I wish I knew 100%. Last year seems like a big blur combined with a ball of confusion. We missed seeing our friends. The comradely. The parking lot parties. Hanging with like-minded people. The jokes and razzing. Covid vaccines are starting to get out there slowly, but unfortunately the CDC confirms that it takes 2 ½ months after the second shot to build suitable resistance to the virus. That translates to a good amount of completed vaccinations needed by the middle of April, for us to be in a good position in late June. Right now, that seems optimistic, but the next few weeks will be a good indicator of where things are headed. We know some of you are attending some local outdoor shows and cruises; but others have not left their homes in the better part of a year except to grab groceries. If a fair percentage of registrants are not comfortable with traveling and attending, we could end up in a bind….we need to consider that a minimum attendance is needed to cover fixed cost of the event. We also have to consider any of our volunteer staff that may be hesitant to be involved this year. Assuming the State of Maryland and the City of Frederick give large gatherings the green light, we still might need to limit the number of people in building 9 at any one time. Another consideration is what to do about the banquet and auction – as they are held indoors. All this is being considered in our discussions. The safety of you and your families is important – we are all family – Camaro Family. At this point, we would rather not start taking registrations, and then have to send them back in February; but I know many of you need to start making vacation plans at work, and some have to schedule work on their cars. Give us a bit more time, say mid February at the latest, and we will have an answer. Stay Safe, and here’s to the times when we can keep the gloves in the glove box, and the masks on the “Lone Ranger”.
