Camaro Club August Newsletter / Update

Fellow Lehigh Valley Camaro Club members,

We have four new members over the last few months, Joe Lichman, Bob Shourds, Rick Koehler, and Ed Long.  WELCOME!

I want to thank you all again for your support of the Silence of Mary Home charity.  Our club donated about $300 of the $1600 raised.  As the Camaro Nationals was not held this year, Vern and Sue truly appreciated the donations.

As Covid-19 continues to be a major issue in the area and the country, many of us are resigning to a new way of life.  A few cruises have been popping up, and even a show or two, but far from what we are used to.  Via Facebook, I see a few of our Camaros and “their parents” have been in attendance here and there. Hopefully, by next season, we will have a vaccine, or otherwise have a handle on things that will allow us to get back more to normal.

Samantha Mertus gave Ryan a surprise 30th birthday party last Sunday, hoping for a bunch of Camaros to park with some Mustangs belonging to some of his friends.  The Mustangs won…..Ralph drove in from the Reading area and I stopped by, but not in a Camaro – I did not have the tender hooked up and the battery was dead.  Sorry Samantha – I hoped for a bit better turnout.

Due to other cancellations, our next event will likely be the Fall Foliage Run, I guess, unless anyone has an idea.  The foliage run should keep us at safe distance, and if we end at a restaurant or drive in with outdoor seating – we should be good.

Maybe we could get everyone to drop me a note, email, or private message, indicating you comfort level with get togethers, I can put together a consensus of where we stand.

Thanks – can’t wait for things to be normal,
Karl
