Labor Day has passed, so summer is behind us for another year. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. We haven’t met as a group since last year’s Christmas Party, and I’m not sure what the situation will be for this Christmas. I don’t know how or if a restaurant will be able to do a party for 25+ people and still keep things safe…..and would it be fun for our members?
That leaves us with the Fall Run…..which might be our only time this year to safely hang out and catch up with each other and what we have been up to. I asked in a previous email to offer suggestions and tried to get a handle on participation. Replies were scarce. Thus, with the help of Bobby and Jim; I have put together a couple of options.
Please respond with which you would prefer; IF you would plan on attending. No reply will indicate that you are not currently interested in attending. (No judgements – we all have different levels of concern about the Covid-19 situation.) Date would be Sunday, October 25th.
Option 1: Meet somewhere near the Whitehall Mall area, drive through the country for approximately an hour to an hour and a half; and end at a drive-in (Bear Creek Junction on Rt 309?). Eat, hang out, and head home from there whenever you are ready.
Option 2: Initial starting point in Trexlertown, and stop near Bethlehem or Easton somewhere if needed, to meet additional members, then continue north to Martin’s Creek and Jim and Minna Zigenfuss’s. Jim and Minna will open their 6+ car garage, and set tables and supply soda, water, and ice. This would be a “BYOL” – bring your own lunch. Travel time from Trexlertown would be approximately an hour, so a cooler should keep any sandwiches, and deserts cold. There is plenty of room inside and out, to social distance and still hang out and catch up with fellow members. You would be free to leave whenever you are ready. This can also work if the weather is not nice, as there is enough room inside for everyone if need be.
Again, please let me know which option you would prefer, If you would plan on going. We don’t need to go through the motions if there is not enough interest.
